Vintage Ermat and Erpat

1974 photos
graduation days
Papa and Tita Rose Papa Grade 3
Manila, 1950's
Almost a military......
What most people don't know about him during his heydays:

He was the Corps Commander of the Colegio de San Agustin, Bacolod in 1971. He was a black belter of the Tang Soo Do Karate Club in Talisay Negros Occidental. His and Lolo's fave spot in the 50's is the Luneta Park and Manila Bay Marina. His most treasured item is his Indian inspired costume wahahaha. He likes jumpers. He used to play snare drums.

What most people don't know about her in her early days:

She won a Declamation Contest in Canossa Sta Rosa entitled "Alms". She graduated with Honors in Canossa Academy in 1975 (three years later I was born). She wanted to be a policewoman. She was consistently voted as MUSE from Grade 1 to 4th year high school. She and Tita Lyd were classmates in 4th Year high school.

how i love those vintage pics. we're keeping a lot of them, too, it's a good idea to preserve them in digital format.

Thanks for showing us part of your family album. You treasure those black and whites and sepias don't you. How nice that you have published them for posterity.

I got pictures just like those!

I still dunno what U.T.O.Y means.

U.T.O.Y is a batangueno word for LIL EXHUBERANT KID. By heart I still am. No excess/extravagant meaning at all.

Yup, really love those old pics. B&W is my type though but can't find those some in some of our albums...

love the old photos!! It's nice to see that you still have them and treasure them. And what a great tribute to your parents!

Love your blog, btw. You should post the recipes when you get around to learning how to cook those dishes on your list. (previous post)

It's nice to see how much you seem to treasure these, and they are, indeed, a treasure!

I always like to say that you won't really know where you're going if you don't know where you came from. 'Tis obvious you'll go quite far, my friend. Enjoyed reading through your entries. Thanks for sharing.

i did this declamation piece, too. i think, it's entitled Vengeance is not ours, it's God's. but i didn't win.

U.T.O.Y said...

that's right evi..."Vengeance is not ours, it's God's" is the correct title.

Nanay won the contest in high school. she was trying to be a policewoman or a journalist kaso due to financial constraint she went to work early.
